Race for the Cure Texarkana (with a Twist)

Race for the Cure Texarkana - LifeNet EMS Booth Staff 2018

On Saturday, October 20th, LifeNet setup a booth at the 2018 Komen Texarkana Race for the Cure held in downtown Texarkana.  This year, LifeNet was a sponsor for the annual fundraiser for Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.

According to Susan G. Komen, breast cancer is the most common cancer among women in the U.S. and around the world. It is estimated that more than 266,000 women are diagnosed each year across the United States of America.

Every year, LifeNet team members help raise funds for breast cancer awareness and research through t-shirt sales.  Team members are allowed to purchase breast cancer awareness t-shirts to wear at work on the weekends throughout the month of October.  All money raised from the t-shirt sales is donated to Susan G. Komen’s Texarkana division.

As a sponsor for the 2018 Komen Texarkana Race for the Cure, LifeNet had the opportunity to setup a booth to provide information about our organization.  This year our staff taught bystander CPR to people who stopped by the booth.
